ABOUT

Independence is famous for being the historic hop capital of the world. The Hop & Heritage Festival continues to celebrate our community's hop history showcasing Independence's unique heritage and vibrant community.

The festival begins at 12:00 while enjoying beer tastings. Purchase a pint glass and receive a passport of local businesses hosting craft beer tastings (21+). At Riverview Park the whole family can enjoy the Heritage Stage, a Kid Zone featuring Young Entrepreneurs and Vendors. There is also a Beer Garden for adults and of course live music throughout the day.

Hop Head Hundred

The "Hop Head Hundred" begins and ends in historic Independence, Oregon, once known as the "Hop Capital of the World." Riders traverse scenic backcountry roads with views of the Coast and Cascades, passing active hop farms and crossing the Willamette River via the iconic Buena Vista Ferry.

Presented by Pacific Source Insurance, this annual event supports the Oregon MTB League, a non-profit organization fostering youth development in mountain biking for 6th-12th graders across the state. Founded in 2017 as part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), the league emphasizes participation, camaraderie, and positive sporting behavior over competition for more than 300 youth athletes.

Young Entrepreneurs

The Independence Downtown Association loves celebrating and supporting our community's young entrepreneurs. We will be providing youth with an opportunity to exhibit and sell their own creations at the festival. Spots are limited, register today!
