2025 Independence Downtown Association Hosted Events:
Heart Shape Confetti

February
Walk of Hearts 

​Express your sentiment with a personal message on a bright red heart. Each heart will be proudly displayed on lamp posts throughout downtown Independence. Your creative contribution helps the Downtown Association fund the summer flower baskets, bringing beauty to downtown all season long.

March 15:
St. Patty’s Day Crawl

Get ready for a night of fun and festivities as we celebrate the annual St. Paddy’s Day Crawl in downtown Independence! Whether you walk, crawl, skip, or hop, explore our lively local spots from 6 PM to 10 PM and enjoy drinks, food, and plenty of Irish cheer.

 

Put on your best green, grab your friends, and join us for a shamrockin’ good time at some of downtown’s most spirited establishments!

Pride Clouds

June 7: Independence Pride

In partnership with Monmouth Has Pride, Independence is thrilled to celebrate the vibrant diversity of our community! Join us in downtown Independence from 4 PM to 10 PM for an evening filled with lively music, delicious food, and an unforgettable drag performance.

 

Let’s come together to honor love, inclusion, and the unique spirit that makes our community shine. All are welcome!

June 13:
Last Day of School Celebration

School’s out, Summer’s in, and it’s time to party!

 

Join us for a fun-filled day with interactive booths, delicious treats, and activities to kick off summer in style. Let’s celebrate the end of the school year and the start of an exciting summer adventure!

 

This event is free and runs from 3PM – 5PM.

September 20: Hop & Heritage Festival

Independence is famous for being the historic hop capital of the world. The Hop & Heritage Festival continues to celebrate our community's hop history!

 

Concentrated in Downtown Independence, the Hop & Heritage Festival showcases Independence's unique heritage and vibrant community. The festival is a family friendly event.

 

You can look forward to live music, a cornhole tournament, craft beer and soda, hop history, and more!

October 31: Downtown Trick or Treat

Bring the whole family to downtown Independence for a spook-tacular Halloween celebration! Local businesses and organizations will be handing out candy and goodies for all the little ghosts and goblins.

 

This free, family-friendly event is a great way to enjoy the festive spirit of the season while exploring our charming downtown. Come in costume and join the fun!

The City of Independence serves its ~10,000 resident's, is located along the Willamette River, and borders the City of Monmouth.
