Local

The spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having a devastating impact on our small business community, and they need your help! These one-of-a-kind businesses help give Independence our distinctive character and contribute to our vibrant downtown.  Our locally owned businesses help build our community, support our local causes, and put dollars into the local economy.

Your support can help save a local business. Every amount helps, and we have outlined several ways that will directly benefit a local business.

Thank you for your continued support for our wonderful downtown!

Shop Local

Several of our businesses are still open and have put additional measures in place to keep people safe, such as curbside pickup for takeout, as well as delivery.  Many retail locations have added or enhanced online shopping for their products, so be sure to check out what they are offering!

Purchase Gift Cards

Buy a gift card now to enjoy later!  Many of our businesses offer e-cards online, or the ability to order a gift card over the phone.  Gift cards are also a great way to say “thank you” or to help someone out who may be going through a stressful time.

Support Fundraising Campaigns

Several of our local businesses have started GoFundMe and Facebook fundraising campaigns in this time of need. Trusted leaders in online fundraising, GoFundMe and Facebook allow organizers to access funds quickly.  Your donation can help save a business in need during this challenging time!

Online Love

Lastly, if you aren’t able to contribute financially, please consider taking the time to leave a positive review online, sharing social media posts, or even reaching out to the business to see if there is anything you can do to help! There is so much that can be done to help these businesses through these difficult times, reach out and see how you can be of service!
